Protecting the Acute Area of the Driver's Windshield

Damage to the Driver's Side Windshield
The Acute area of the driver's side windshield is an area approximately 8-1/2" wide by 11' high area starting at the top of the steering wheel encompassing the area which is directly in front of the driver. (see diagram). Almost all cracks and chips in this area require window replacement, as even a slight change in light scattering can affect driver visibility. However, if the windshield repair technician is positive he can repair the chip or crack without leaving any residue light scattering, then the damage can be repaired. The final criteria is based on windshield repair finish product.
