Insurance Tip:
At most
auto glass service centers, car owners often ask if their insurance will cover repair of their
autoglass. Most car owners are unaware if their policy covers
autoglass repairsor how it works.
For starters most frequently your
auto glass repair coverage is built into your comprehensive insurance coverage. Comprehensive covers damage NOT caused by a collision. Comprehensive covers many different items, including auto glass, fire, vandalism, theft, animals and damage from weather related storms.
With comprehensive insurance there is a deductible, which is your allotment to pay when when you need to make good the claim.
Ice and Snow Tip:
When you need to remove ice and snow from your
windshield, don't use your hand and a credit card to scrape the
glass clean, rather get a well made ice scraper. And be sure|be certain|make sure you don't get one that will scratch your
windshield. If you see that your scrapper is starting to damage your glass, then get a different one. Most
auto parts stores will carry these items.
Windshield Cleanliness Tip:
Be sure to keep your windows clean inside and out×’€¦Make sure you can see through your front glass windows and others can see you, it's a safety issue.
If your
windshield has a crack or rock chip in the drivers line of sight, and you continue to drive with the car, and fail to get it fixed, you are committing a violation in New York State, and other parts of the country. If a policeman stops you and notices the chip, he may give you a fix-it-ticket. The safety issues for this law relates to oncoming traffic headlights at night, rain water or sun shine reflecting through the crack, all of which can impair your vision.

Thanks for all the advice. I just got new auto glass in Edmonton and it took a toll on my wallet. I'm going to be really smart about my car for now on. Thanks again.
